I'd pay 3-5 max.

I bought my FC with almost $18,000 put into it from 2000 - 2004 (when I bought it.) for just $3,000. And it runs great, so... yeah, kinda steep.

That's way to high. Look an NADA or KBB values. About half that might be acceptable.

Even my 52,000 mile GXL is only worth $4,012 and that's a nice clean S5

I hear you guys saying it's overpriced, etc but I have been looking for a nice car all summer and this is the best thing I found. It has been totally rebuilt with every piece replaced. Yes he replaced every seal, washer, bolt and nut on the body with new stuff from Mazda. It even has brand new leather seats. It's obvious that this guy loves the car and did everything right. I am willing to pay for that, even if it doesn't come with a turbo, 6 ports, 4 pot aluminum calipers etc etc. I'm buying it I don't care. I've been driving all over this city looking at riced out beaters and overpriced garage queens. This is the first car that is done right, so why not pay a little more?

If you like the car the truth is any car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. However, paying well over 150% of its actual value has a significant risk. If you carry full insurance coverage you will take a big hit if you or someone else totals it. You will be lucky to get the KBB. The insurance company won't give a tinker's damn what it cost you or what new stuff has been put on it.

$6200 is entirely too much money for that car. Value is determined by desireability, availability, and one's ability to pay. 86 GXL's are a dime a dozen. How does the car you listed compare to this? You'd feel terrible to show up at Sevenstock having spent $6200 on that car, only to see this car, which is less than half. Lightweight flywheel, MSD, new engine, RB exhaust, new radiator, etc. You may find a better purchase than the $6200. They are out there.

Damn right for that much you can get a NICE TII. $6200 is ridiculously overpriced and the car isn't worth the effort. Now if it was the same effort applied to a TII and he's asking 10k, that's an ENTIRELY different story.

Did anybody bother to read the description at the bottom of the page. It was completely restored just 2 years ago. It appears to be in showroom condition and any car manufactured in 1986 that is in near showroom condition is definitely worth some money. Sure you could pay that much for a nice Turbo II but I'm willing to bet it isn't in the condition this car appears to be in. I'd say go for it, if you have the money.
