How much ATF fluid to i put in my 13b 89 NA??
I need to build up compresion because my Rx7 is hard to start. How much ATF fluid to i put in my 13b 89 NA and should i let ATF sit in my engine over night befare i start it? thanx Rx7Dragracer

I have a injector needle type thing and just squit in atf till it comes out the plug hole 
Just get as much as you can in there. and bump the ignition a few times and go at it again, then let it sit for 24 hours. you cant hurt it by putting too much in.

Look guys you do not need to build compression, you need to stop being cheap and get new apex seals and springs... Do you wanna mess up your housings? Don't do this sloppy ATF **** to your engine.

Kozmic... First, drive your car hard for a couple of days. The smoking will stop. Judging from your amount of posts, I'm guessing you didn't give the car enough time. I used a lot of ATF for 48 hours and it took about 3 weeks before the car stopped smoking completely. Once it did, though, it not only performed better, it smoked less than it did prior to the procedure.
Also, how in the world does ATF ruin seals? If ATF ruins seals, then maybe we shouldn't be using it in automatic transmissions! Geez! We better start notifying ALL of the manufacturers around the world!!!
Angelguard... How in the world is using the ATF trick "sloppy?" It's a simple way of cleaning any sort of combusiton chamber. The idea is to PREVENT the need to replace the Apex seals. Replacing the Apex seals in a housing with lots of carbon build-up (without proper cleaning) will still yield low compression.
Before you guys start telling people about your opinions and bad experiences, maybe you should consider that you did something wrong if it didn't work for you. Maybe you have other problems-- kinda like treating a headache with Rogaine.
I believe the concensus is that the ATF trick works miracles. I'm sticking with that.

I know that the trick works BUT...You do not get it... The ATF does not mess the Apex seals at all and that is fine BUT>>> When your car is in the need for ATF to start it means that it is time for new seals and springs before they break and **** up your housings. All the ATF does is compensate for the loss of contact on to the housing due to Seal and spring wear. A set of seals is cheaper than a set of housings... That is all that I am trying to point out...I know the trick works BUT I also know what happens on the long run (How long?) up to engine usage...Be carefull with your wankel or it might break...

angelguard the atf does not compensate for weak springs and seals, the atf gets rid of the carbon crap that has been there so long your seals dont even make contact anymore due to carbon buildup in the way. once that carbon is gone your seals make contact again. in rare instances where some person has left carbon buildup in there for soooooooo long, the seals are just stuck/weak and they dont contact the edge anymore. its the carbon that kills, not the atf.
people lose compression sometimes after aft treatment because that carbon buildup was the only thing keeping compression against the apex seals. without the carbon you get all kinda of symptoms associated with bad seals/low compression/ ect....

ATF doesn't compensate for anything. It breaks down the carbon in the engine that prevents perfect sealing. If your drive a RX7 very weakly, with no high revs, it'll build up carbon. The apex seals will stick into the housing, and not come down. Its really common in the automatics. Add some ATF, the carbon is dissolved, and wammo, the seals are again in perfect contact with the housing.
Adding ATF will NOT weaken the apex seals, or make them any more likely to break. Breaking is caused by detonation, and none of the cars on this page are turbocharged. If the springs break, your car will not start, but it will not **** up your housings.
