'87 Base "Luxury" ---> '87 Sport ---> '83 "S" ---> '91 NA Coupe ---> '87 T2

5 RX-7s later, I gotta say that BOOST is as good as they say it is and more.

I bought my 87 GXL May of last year... and drove it for maybe 2-3 months and with no automotive experience, jumped right into a complete TII swap/build-up.

I started on a 1990 pontiac Trans Am and turned it into a smashed beer can in less than three months. My second car was a 1991 trans am, same body, same motor, same color, same result. Then I stopped visting the bank of "Mommy and Daddy" and bought my first FC, 86 base. Then followed a 87 GXL and a 90 GXL. I don't have anything against the Tii. I've driven plenty and almost bought one, but I'm N/A for life. I recently learned the hard way that FI is no friend of mine.

Besides N/A guys get all the girls!!!Hahaha

I wanted a turbo II, but I was having a hard time finding a really good, unmodified one at the price range I was looking for. I found a really clean S5 na for a really good deal, so I did that. I will eventually swap out the motor. I'm waiting to graduate college so I can afford a 20b swap. Until then, I'm keeping it clean and na. It gets up and goes just fine for me.

I knew an N/A was not gonna satisfy me, so I looked for a TII from jump street. Found one, bought it, should have done a compression test. Then the brakes went out, so I was lookin for a clean shell to drop my freshly rebuilt motor into when I stubbled across a deal on a runing TII

Now I have 2 tII's an i must say I'm sold on the snail (unless its 3 rotor) Now to get this motor swap completed....

In fact, I still own this FC turbo.
I've gone through two other FC turbos...
Never owned a non-turbo.

Nobody likes you.

I started out with a 91NA... got an 87 TII.... liked it but sold it in hopes of holding out for a good clean S5 TII.... I've since gone back to S5 NA's for daily drivers and am still searching for a good clean S5 TII. Which I'll be fully restoring. Maybe a 10AE.... or an FB... who cares.. as long as it says "RX-7" on the back and has a rotary under the hood.. I'll drive the **** out of it.

I started off with a 10th AE the second day after being 16 . I had that for a few years then when that was gone, I was out of rx-7s for a little while and I then picked up a GXL as a DD. I got beat by a civic hatchback after having it for about 2 weeks and drove straight to my mechanics shop and put on a 60-1 TO4E. Now I would personally never own a NA rx-7 unless it was some bridgported 20b NA . But to each his own.

I started with a 10th Anniversary, then went to a 91 Coupe (A), then a GTUs and now another 91 Coupe (A&B).

I guess I have a thing for the rare ones......

Anyone have an 86 Sport or a 92 Vert they'd like to sell?

Started with an 88 GXL junker, then got tired of going slow and swapped in a TII drivetrain. The car became a whole lot more unreliable but a whooollllleeeeeee lot more fun. Im about to buy a clean vert, take all the turbo stuff out of the GXL and turbo the vert. Maybe part out the GXL or put the n/a stuff back in.. .im not sure.

I do know that if I had started out with a turbo then I would have blown that thing apart by now as ive done some stupid things when my GXL was n/a. Ill DD an n/a 7 anyday but my heart is with the boost.

'87 Sport, junked it, then got an '88 GXL and both are N/A. I didn't want to play 'Pop Goes the Apex Seal' if I started with a TII when I was a complete noob to rotaries. I'm thinking of porting it in the future, but not a TII swap.

Mine was an 87 sport I traded for some work I did.

I got the better end of that deal since it was just flooded.

NA daily driver here and lovin it. I put 30,000 miles on it. 8 grand all day, cheap as hell to fix and cake to work on. I've gotten 1 bitch ticket since I bought it and havent gotten any for the last 7 months, exit ramps and backroads > highways Won't be going Turbo for a while, maybe after better brakes/tires/suspension.
