How Many Pieces/How Many Times Fixed (Clock Housing)
How many cracks is your plastic clock housing in and how many times have you fixed it?
right now mine is in 3 (new) pieces and I've fixed it once (it was in 3 pieces when I bought it...I dropped it fixing it and it turned into 7 pieces)...and I think I'll fix it again, and repaint it again.
anyone know how much brand new ones are??

Yeah, my vert is still on its first one... and I even park it outside most of the time.
Maybe those people that have a large number of mutiple peices don't treat their car well??? You know a nice wipe down with some plastic/vinyl protectant (other than armor all) every now and then would probably do wonders.

well that could be.. but i bought my car a year ago so i know it wasnt carelessness on my part. i think it even had a crack in it before i took it out for the first time. it crumbled in my hands under its own weight.

almost all the hard plastic in our cars is ABS... hench using ABS cement... just like welding the parts back together.
The speaker(?) thing on the pasenger side under the glove box in my car broke off completely while I was driving. Now it's hangin from the wire.
I replaced that clock housing not so long ago, and I accidently dropped the old one... It turned into dust practically.
My dash is falling apart....

However my defroster grille is another story. Half of the pieces are in the garbage, the other half fell behind the dash.
Silly Logicon replacement...

I just recently replaced the broken and craked pieces that the previous owner did to the car (i was shaking my head the entire time). Oh by the way Mazda sells these two parts for:
122.30 for the center panel (the one peice unit that surrounds your radio and controls)
45.80 for the idiot lights and clock bezel.
those prices don't include taxes but probably included shipping somewhere. yeah... it sucked.
Post up some picks of the aluminum dash when it's done, that would be nice to see.
