Im running a microtech mtx-8L which has been upgraded to a LTX-8

many guys here in aus use them with setup like yours..

have a look in the ECU sections as there is a group buy on microtechs going at the moment..

the haltec is a fine ECU too as is the Motec but i think they are well suported over there yet??

My viewpoint:

If you want something that has worked for years, has OK resolution, and has a lot of people in the US with experience running it on an RX-7 - Haltech E6K
http://www.haltech.com.au/Products/ECUs/ecus.html

If you want to try something that looks fantastic on paper, has excellent resolution and 3D boost control, lots of bells and whistles, but may or may not have the bugs worked out yet - Haltech E11
http://www.haltech.com.au/Products/ECUs/ecus.html

If you want something with local support (Pettit), excellent resolution similar to the E11, 3D boost control, a hand controller and memory cartridges, but no datalogging - AEM Wolf3D V4
http://www.wolfems.com.au/home

If you want something cheap that works - Microtech LT8 or LTX8

It would fit in the "3Gen RX-7 Only" category, much like the AEM Plug & Play EMS.

I spoke with Apexi during Sema and they said its possible to make one for the FC. But its a matter of money. I'm not sure on the actual cost but it was somewere about adding 1000US on top of hte powerfc for one tuned for the FC.
They do sell them for the FC if you contact them about gettin one custom made for you, I was also told that they sold a couple made for the FC in the US market However they have no intentions to make them for the FC becase the demand for them to design and produce them for the FC is not viable.

I'm going to have to speak up and get a word in for the Microtech LT8.

We just did another LT8 install this last weekend, this time on an N/A, and I was again blown away by how well it went.

If you want something cheap that works and is easier to live with and work with than an E6K (in my oh-so-humble opinion), has built-in datalogging, an available hand controller AND laptop tuning interface, a nicely-built and nicely-loomed harness, with in-state support (BR7 Racing is in Tallahassee), and a system whose fan base is growing with each and every new install (seriously - how many negative Microtech threads have you seen?), give the LT8 a look-see.

You won't be disappointed.

i was all gun ho about getting a haltech e6k but this thread makes me want to read up on the LT8.

by the way, there is a modified Porsche running around tampa fl, with a 13bt and a TEC 3 system running 10s.
