For sure Motor Oil, but what else? I changed my tranny fluid recently, and some dude asked me if I also changed my transfer case fluid, what the heck is he talking about?!

Last service/tuneup I did:
engine oil (20-50)
tranny oil (80-90)
diff oil (75-90)
brake fluid
clutch fluid
steering fluid (all the above Dot4)
Radiator 50/50 mix (or -during summer- 30/70)
wipers fluids (two in front and one in the rear)
gas

umm....if your car has AWD, then i would DEFINETLY recommend changing the transfer case fluid. the transfer case is NOT the rear diff.
but you should definetly change the rear diff fluid

In my rear diff and manual transmissions I use the same 75/90 gear oil. Do yourself a favor and put some synthetic in. Also use an LSD additive if your car is so equipped.

Other than that there is engie oil, antifreeze, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, and brake/clutch fluid.

See the Pre-Delivery and Scheduled Maintenance section of this service manual (your 87 is pretty much the same as an 88). You can go to the other sections for specifics.

Yes, synthetic oil will make a huge difference in your transmission and differential. However, note that Mazda does not recommend synthetic oil in the engine.

Mobile 1 has made a HUGE difference in my tranny and rear end. It is much smoother and likes cold weather better.

don't forget to change your alternator fluid. and check your muffler bearings while you're at it

you can use either weight for the alt, however for the muffler bearings, you have to count the bearings and multiply by 4.35 and divide by the current atmospheric pressure to make sure of the weight to use.

Brake and clutch fluids should be done at least every 30 k miles. A lot of people forget that. And if you are street racing hard or in climates that get under 30F, it should be done every 15K miles at least.

Arn't you glad you remembered Ace.

When I was a teen, I was hanging out at a buddies garage and they joked with me about getting a "can of compression" for the engine I was building. Well, I kinda fell for it and thought it was really funny.
Then a few years ago I tried the same trick on a buddie of mine who was really a newbie at cars and I sent him to the store for a "can of compression" Well the joke was on me when he returned with a can of motor honey that said on the side, "Adds compression to your old or worn out engine" hahahahahah

"Transfer case" implies 4x4 or AWD drivetrains.&nbsp The FC3S did not come stock with AWD capability, so you can just laugh at the dude for claiming otherwise...

Since it's getting warmer now you need to change the air in your tires also. Make sure you put in some quality summer air.

My favorite was the kid that wanted a new power band for his motorcycle.

When I first got my TII, my friend told me that if I poked holes in the intercooler that it would get better airflow.

And I believed him... haha
