Arrow How Many 2+2's are there?

I have just aquired a 1987 2+2 na and was wondering how many were made. I have a friend thats really into these and he says he has never seen one, only heard of them. Are they as rare as a convertable? Im was kind of curious and wanted to post where I know someone has at least an idea of how many there are.

Thnx,

If I remember right all Rx-7s except the verts in Japan were 2+2s and all were turbo. I've seen a fair number of 2+2 N/As around as well (I have one that I converted from bins to fit kids.)

I think it would be cool to have 2+2 seats in my TII.

for God's sake, they are not meant to fit any mankind (and womenkind) in there.
they are tighter than junior's locket.

You'd think that right up until you had to sit in them.

They're pointless unless you have small children. The extra cargo space is far more useful.

LOL my 88SE was a 2+2. The seats were in mint condition due to the fact that you can't really use them...

THese seats are in every j-spec 7 excluding the vert. I have a t2 with them and they are from japan. However you will notice that a few of s4's came with the back seats. But they are rare and alot of people like them for the rarety. In japan they call them ''cat seats'' because thats about all that will fit back there! Iwould leave them in there, just because you dont see alot of em'.

LoL These are the worst seats ever! My friend had an S5 TII that was a 2+2, and they are pointless. I agree that the compartments are more handy.

I just think it would be nifty, I'd never try and let anyone ride back there, well maybe my girl, but she's a whole 105lbs so..ehh.

i tried sitting in the t2 2+2's for the first time a few weeks back -
driver's or passengers side doesn't matter, you can't realistically keep your knees in front of you if the front seats are still in the car. the only way i (6'0) was able to sit in there and have the seats snapped back to the locked positions was by turning my knees to face the side of the car and my legs were still squished against the seats - no room for anyone else back there like that, and a horrible experience on a road trip i wouldn't wish on to anyone

I love my 2+2 seats. They're a great gimmick at meets and what's even rarer than having 2+2 seats is having them in leather and in mint condition (along with the rest of the interior).
As long as you've got a clean hatch area, these are the only 7's you can fit five collage kids into.

BTW: The rarest 2+2 RX7's are the 1st gens. I've only seen 2 go on ebay but I always thought they were never offered as an option here. I'd hate to see how cramped those are

Realisticly they serve no purpose. No real size person can fit in them. Not to mention what would happen if you were in a accident.

Seriously we drive sports cars and sports cars arnt ment to have more then 2 people in them.

I agree they suck ive owned 2 fc's with them, both were just good for jokes. I ripped them out of my 86 and just left the carpet laying over the holes. Both my s5's have bins and theyre much nicer.

My '88 GXL has rear seats, and I have a friend that fits in them, to boot! Plus, the seats just fold down, so I don't feel I've lost that much storage room, especially since the seats dip enough that you can store stuff in 'em even when the seat's folded down.

i used to have back seats. I had three of my friends in the backseat and one in the front. A total of five people in my fc if you cant add because you to intoxicated. Well anyway. I think the max passenger weight for an fc is like 250lbs or something. Needless to say with five passengers we were just a little over the limit i would say. It was damn funny. Converted to bins after i realized they callapsed my near mint hatch cover. Oh well.... good times.
