Question how long will it last????

ok i got my 88 n/a and i think my oil seals are starting to go. on fire up i get some smoke and then if i rev it up it will smoke really good like im fogging for mosquitos. last time it used about 1 qt for 500 miles. i do have my oil metering on the second hole up on the rod. could this be some of my problem. any advice on what you might think is wrong or how long it will last if the oil seals are gone would be great. thanks
Rob

Depends.....My vert was running insanely rich. Causing the oil to be washed away by the fuel and not providing a lub surface. Also, with the oil control rings failing, fuel will get into the oil and you will lose the weight of the oil. In do time your seals will probably fail prematurely. Give it about 2500-4500 miles but it all depends on how many times you change your oil and how you drive it.

ok i just drove the car.... if a oil seal was blown would it show in the oil pressure. when i fired up the car it was still a little warm and i had about 60 psi as it warmed up it had around 45 to 50 psi going down the road. at idle it was showing about 20 to 25. is this normal or what. what would the oild pressure be if the oil seals were blown. would the oil pressure be differnt if the oild seals were going

try some valvoline high mileage oil and a quart of STP NO-SMOKE. That has helped me with a oil burning junkyard motor.
