I waited 3 years, then I boght a frunt clip. I don't recoment buying a frunt clip because you only need the engine(long block), trany, engine harness and ecu. All the body work will be damaged, so it's useless.

I never let anyone else drive my car, I have worked long hours on it and spent a lot of money. If someone want's to drive my FC they will have to buy it first, no monthly payments eather. The only person I let drive my car was a singaporian girl, but she got scared and didn't drive.....

yeah, dont really get hung up on the s4 or s5. you can always put the kouki's on later. also, there are certain advantages and disadvantages to each series. i bet you could find a decent one here in the midwest for about 3k-4k. if you dont mind driving it, you should be okay. just look around in the for sale forum here on the club, they are usually pretty good about selling what they have for a good price. also, try to check out the person thats selling it in the good guy/bad guy section, very helpful! but, yeah, i would save that money for a good maintained tII. try to get a non-upgraded one. so, whatever you decide to put on it, is the least screwed up as possible. many people that try to screw with it, oft screw it up even more. of course, we all do that when we first tinker with things. but, better you know what you fucked up than try to fix what some other bloke fucked up.

like they all said, just keep at it. my 7 has become a labor of love, when i get stressed out i got work on the 7 its just fun. i enjoy standing back and looking at how far it's come along, from a dusty old gutted car to a nice beuatiful black shiny interior, so what ever you decide, even if it may be easier to find a TII, if you really love the car build it to be the perfect compliment to your style. this may be an obstical, but it can also be a chance to make something unique.

im looking at about 3 and a half years so far, now all i need is a set of good s4 injectors, and (hopefullly not, but i was told a s4 ecu would fry with the s5 injectors in it) a s4 ecu. sucks that i might have to wait another few months so i can install the emanage im about to order and get it tuned before i can drive it regularly.

c_me, your friends are ******** for ragging on your car. also, your friend who damaged your fender should pay for it, or at least seriously get to help fixing it.

lack of experience is not a reason to avoid swapping your engine yourself. i just did my first swap last weekend. could've gotten it done in 2 days if i didn't have to wait for gaskets from the dealer.

seriously though, just buy a t2. it'll probably be cheaper in the long run, especially if you are going to pay labor to have the engine swapped.
you did your first swap last weekend and you have been acting around like you know everything for the past few months...

I'm still working on mine... it's been 4-5 months, and still counting...
probably looking at another 4 months to get it all going good as gold (too many other commitments).
My close friend owns a S14 J spec, SR20DET, weighing in 1240 factory, with minor power mods (afm, 550cc inj, power FC, apexi 3" catback, apexi power intake, apexi RSM & SAFCII, walbro 255 internal, HKS actuator...) and we we're are about equal. Id like to take him for a go soon as I get it going... His silvia pulls very hard.. he had it going at 1 bar, but now restricted his boost to 10psi, occasionally creeping to 12. they are nice cars... but only cause their newer

Got my car in August 04 (88 GXL). Everything stock on it except for the RB Cat-back. Drove it for 2 months till the engine caught fire. Luckily I caught it quickly with my managers coffee and saved it from destroying itself. Spent 700+ on it to fix. Did Marren PD retrofit, 2 new injectors, vac lines, oil injectors, oil lines etc.. It was down for 3 months during this. Finally get it back in January or so. Drivin' it, lovin' it. Starts to burn coolant and floods after I turn it on, yay coolant leak. Having to rebuild/get an engine. So it's been down since february and its july now and still pretty much no progress has been made except the engine/tranny being pulled. I'm buying a complete t2 setup from my friend and hopefully I'll get it in and running before winter. I'm currently driving a 91 crown victoria that my dad uses for fishing so it smells...

2 and a half years after a guy off the for sale forum sold me a tii with a bad title. Problems are a grinding transmission, eats so much fuel (probably because of the bad TPS i need to replace), and its supposedly leaking coolant somewhere.

I waited 5 months to drive my car.... and I haven't even taken it over 4000rpm yet... still breaking in the rebuild. So far I am the only one who has driven it since I got it in feb... but the guys at mazda may have driven it since theyve had it for the past few weeks... bastards.
