Question how long has your rebuild lasted?

how long does the basic rebuild last? with only needing the basics like apex, springs etc. What is a good place to get one from? I have heard of a lot of rebuilds not lasting over a year. And why are so many rx-7s for sale with rebuilds? is a rebuild the same as getting a new engine, if u have all new pieces in it?

I don't see why it won't have a normal life unless you screwed up!&nbsp Mine has been chugging along for about 20,000 miles now, but I did tear it down twice. Once for the front o-ring popping out and the second for the front cover OPR falling out - both causes the oil control o-rings to shred themselves to pieces, but everything else looked fine and reused.

A rebuild is kinda the same as a new engine except only the "necessities" are replaced.

As for 7s for sale with rebuilds, probably the engine in the car needed it and the owner decided to sell it. But no one would buy it with a dead motor.

From what I've heard, the life span of a rebuild depends on how it's treated during the break in period.

A mazda dealer told me a rebuild is worthless and I'd be better off buying a new engine for the money I'd spend on a rebuild (assuming they'd do the labor). But I've heard good also.

As far as the mazda dealer. Dont trust anyones opinion on Rotories. Trust me .. the more I learn about rotories the more everyone else without one sounds stupider and stupider when they try and give me advice. Mazda dealers can barely diagnose a 7 let alone tell u how long its going to last.
