How Long to change out front diff mount?

is it really that much easier if you have a frame lift?, I have access to one on base (military privs) but they charge me 4 bucks an hour so I think I may just do it in my front driveway, how long did it take ya'll to do it? and is it possible to do it with the exhaust on? the dude before welded the muffs up to the brackets

for 4 bucks an hour why not?

Any advantage helps, and 4 bucks an hour seems like nothing.

You do have to drop the cat-back part of the exhaust, so get ready for a chore there - yet another reason I hate cheapie homemade exhaust systems.

I've done a diff mount in 2 hours, and I've seen people take 2 days. It's a big job, no doubt about it.

So I should use a lift, it is quite a bit easier on the old back, but if I end up take 2 days, thats like 60 bucks

With a lift and a friend, it took us 3 hours with no previous experience of dropping the rear-"assembly", having to hunt for a couple of tools and a couple breaks. Use a tranny jack to push the pumpkin back up into place too, it'll make things alot easier... so does having a friend to give a hand.
