how to know if 5th and 6th ports are opening/are stuck open

how do you know whether or not your fifth and sixth ports are operating correctly?

I dont know if mine are. When I have the car in neutral and I go up into the engine bay and rev is, I dont see the actuator moving at all. I know im going above 3800 RPM but it is not moving at all. how do I know if they are stuck open or stuck closed? will they open in neutral?

If they are not opening, you're car will feel like its "bogging" per say @ higher RPM's (3800+). If they are stuck open, you will have a reverse effect, "bogging" at lower end. Massive lack of torque.

You should be able to move them with your hands.

here is a pic of them
you can put a lil bit of grease and take your car for a spin..if the shafts have no grease on them then they are working...if the grease has been disturbed from how it was when you originally put it then they are not working...

Your cars ports are opened by exhaust backpressure. You don't have enough in neutral to open them. revving the engine and watching them won't do it.

One way to find out is to actually reach down and try to actuate them. You can do it by hand. Just make sure the engine is cold. The other option is to zip tie them open and go drive the car. If you are alot faster then you know they are not opening normally. If your speed is the same, they work fine.

aux ports do not open unless there is a load on the engine.

you said:
When I have the car in neutral and I go up into the engine bay and rev is, I dont see the actuator moving at all.
Nope you are right, they won't move... not in neutral, not without a load on the engine.
