How hot should the oil cooler be?

I have reason to believe I'm not getting much flow through my oil cooler. How warm should the top of the cooler be after 5 minutes of idling, and a 5 minute quick test drive? It didn't feel that warm, it was raining however.

I just changed the oil cooler lines yesterday. Pressure gauge reads as it did before and I'm darned certain all banjo bolts are lined up properly.

Edit - it also smells toasty, but I believe that's a mess i made burning off. Yesterday there was a few whisps of smoke, today there is none.

after 5 mins? it probably hasn't even opened up yet. go drive for 20+

it should be as hot as the rad pretty much. probably shouldn't be able to touch it.

Really, I thought it would have opened up around the same time as the coolant thermostat.

Well, then no worries until tomorrow. Guess it takes the oil longer to heat up.
