how to hook up water temp guage?

how to hook up water temp guage?
anyone hooked up a water temp guage or know how to do so? any sites or howto's would be greatly appreciated

drilled and tapped a hole in the waterpump housing, just below the thermostat.

You can see it here, stuck in one of the holes where the airpump used to go, right underneath the black thermostat outlet pipe.
