how hard is this install???
im looking at buying an 87 rx7 with a turbo 2 swap with 30k miles on it. he says that it won't run because the intake and wiring harness have yet to be installed. are these the last parts to be installed in the turbo 2 swap?? or did he like leave them out and forget to put them in along the way? its a semi clean car so im trying to debate if its worth it or not. how long does it take to finish the swap from this step and what kind of tools are needed?
thanks,
kevin

First, if you're comfortable with wiring and electronics, this should not scare you.
With that out of the way, I think you're getting in over your head.
Unless you're intimately knowledgable with the vehicle, it's going to be a steep learning curve.
PREVIOUS OWNERS almost never tell you everything that is wrong or missing with such a project.
Expect to dump another $1,000 (yes, a GRAND) into the car to get it running reliably.
If you can't handle that kinda budget, I'd recommend to walk away...

check compression in the engine before buying it. He probably had the car wired at an earlier point and realized his jspec swap was garbage. Now he is trying to put his problems on an unsuspecting buyer. If compression is good, buy a non turbo wiring harness, extend the tps wires, and fit appropriate intake. to get this thing running, it could cost anywhere from 50 dollars (junkyard na wiring harness and ebay air intake), to 2,000 dollars or more (engine rebuild after intake manifold purchase then ofcourse wiring harness still.) Run a search for hailers and harness for using na wiring harness. MUCH easier.

i agree with the what has been said. There is a lot that you don't know about what this guy has done. Finishing a swap isn't as simple as just doing the wiring harness and putting the intake on. There are many unforseen issues with that. I would walk away and look for a better car.
im just trying to look out for any possible good deals in the area. so far i've only found one, and that one got jumped on by somebody else. i probably won't go for this car but for clarification, i know an n/a harness works on a t2, but are there any limitations that follow?

The 20 minutes it takes to extend the wires is about it. It actually makes the most sense. I have been running this style swap for over a year now with no electronic related issues.
