How good is the stock T2 Fuel system?
ok, i have a 1990 T2 which has droped an Apex seal.
I have sat in my garage an Extended port T2 engine with big Exhaust ports etc, My question is if i fit it to my Stock t2 would the fuel system be able to cope?
I will not be racing it but using it for work, i dont know if it has been done, also what would happen if the system was'nt big enough? i am guessing it would Det but would it run ok off boost?

Stock fuel injectors are 4 x 550 cc/min, and that comes out to 2.2 liters/min. Converting to lph, you got ~121 lph - this is good for about 250bhp at around 80% fuel injector pulsewidth.
The stock fuel pump is rated at about 180lph. Extrapolate that from the above numbers, and the stock fuel pump is good for 300bhp. The problem with the fuel pump is that it needs to get full voltage to attain such flow levels; most of the electrical systems cannot supply full voltage, thus we use the fuel pump rewire to get maximum capacity.
