How in god's name do you adjust the idle speed?
How in god's name do you adjust the idle speed?
I'm having a problem with the engine revs dropping at idle, so I just want to increase the idle until I can get the problem fixed.
I have an 87 TII.
Any help would be appreciated.

Its a combination of the screw by the BAC and the mixture screw. Hook up a volt meter to your o2 sensor and adjust the mixture screw so that you see .82 - .84 volts on the scale. Then raise your idle, and adjust the mix again. Raise idle and adjust mix. Keep doing that until they are both where you want them
It may be hard to get an accurite o2 reading. Make sure the engine is hot and sometimes you have to blip the throttle. If you take your air pump belt off it should be more accurate.

to adjust the mixture, do you just turn the R-L screw? or do we need to JUMPER any connections?
I've been told that the computer just takes over , unless you jumper 2 connections then turn the screw...
I know nothing of electronics..

You do need to connect a jumper wire to the initial set terminal.
I don't have a pic online but it is the two connector plug(dk green) located near the front coil. It is right near the connector that you can get your error codes from.
This procedure must be done with a hot engine.
Connect the jumper wire
At the BAC valve adjust the idle to 750 by turning the air adjust screw
Set the idle speed to the highest rpm by turning the variable resistor (R-L screw)
Reset the idle speed to 750 rpm at the BAC valve
Remove the jumper wire
