General consensus if I remember correctly is that the speedo is usually completely inaccurate at high speeds.

That said, I've had mine to 120 before - didn't have a long enough stretch of deserted highway to crank it open, and the road was getting a bit bumpy at 120. Right now it's top speed is however fast I can push it.

i was up to ~125 (reading on speedo, don't know actual speed) on my n/a. but for the past half year, it's been at a constant 0 mph. Still trying to work out some bugs on the vacuum hoses on my fresh rebuild

i've done 150 in a volvo

i guess another way to check your speed would be to check your engine RPM and do the math...

RPMs do lie. You can adjust the tacho in case you didn't know.

You must have the old flux capacitor. I got the newer one that you only have to go 35mph. Speedometers are pretty off usually by 5-10mph. According to my speedo I've gone as high as 137mph but I have a S5 auto with a 3.90 rear end which goes a little higher top end that the 4.10. Also the 5th gear on N/A trans is almost none existent.

Chill out dude. Your speedo may have said 145mph but it takes quite a bit to get that high. I saw a S5 TII barely run 147mph at the salt flats with a few mods. Don't take it too seriously because there are a lot of tired 7's that barely do 120mph. I think the S4 TII topped out at 138mph so thats why it seems unbelievable.
(edit: He really does have a flux capacitor I ran into him earlier this century.)
