how fast can a stock 89 gtu go?
if you read the thread, you would know that the speedometer is extremely inaccurate for high speeds. anything over about 90 seemed to be entering the realm of extremely false mph.

I was going to say mach 1 however,
with a holiday today i bet that this thread goes 3 pages and we see the 150mph 86' stock na's pop-up again.
seems you want to go fast, any roads where you live that the speed limit is more than 75? If not, I say they can go 75 all day long

dont s5's top out at 127 or so stock? but you would spend alot of time trying to get there. better go test and see, make sure there is alot of traffic around. j/k top speed runs in n/a's are pointless, it takes so long to get past 110 there is no reason to try and go faster youll end up hitting traffic or getting pulled over. if you had a turbo or something with some power its alot easier to do but not safe regardless. ive topped out 4th gear and went a ways into 5th where the speedo was around 138 to 140 but i know the speedo was off, it was indicating 78mph when i was going 81 or 82 so i know its off due to the tires i had on at the time.
I believe the accepted top speed for an n/a is 136mph.
Ya the stock speedo can be off, especially with 17 years of people putting different wheels/tires on a car.
What I like is in my AE how the speedo can't keep up with its acceleration. Once I left off the throttle, the speedo still raises about 10-15mphs depending on how fast I am going. Only really accurate way is to check the rpms in accordance to what gear you are in.
