There's no fuel cut on my 90. It studders around 8600, then keeps going

 

I have an 86 N/A an I can tell you from experience there is a 7500-7600 rev limit on them...I hit it yesterday going across the Mississippi River bridge where I live...I want to get my car to pull to like 9 or 10 but think it is impossible to do on an 86 model car...You guys tell me...and if it is possible to do what I gotta do to get it there???
