How to eliminate factory fuel cut without $$$$$ ? HELP!!! please.

How to eliminate Factory Fuel cut on 88 TII without buying a $ FCD???

I just got three inch exhaust and I'm hitting fuel cut when I gun it. Needless to say, I'm not really gunning it all that much right now.

Anyways, i've heard of home made FCD's. Some dude was saying something about disconnecting my factory pressure sensor? Any info. Any info on how to make a home made FCD????

try doing this.....take the hose going into the boost sensor and plug it with a screw. That will eliminate your Fuel Cut Problem. Now heres the catch if your fuel system is not up to par with your mods then you will blow your motor ...plain and simple

I should get ready for a barage of comments on this technique

Do you have some sort of A/F meter or EGT gauge that will tell you if your leaning out???? I would make sure that your getting enough fuel before you do this trick.

For those of you who dont believe me....I have been using this method for over 3 months now with no problem.....I am getting 11lbs of boost on stock fuel system with no leaning or detonation.
As long as my gauges work and I see no leaning condition on my gauges and also my plugs ....I can not see why this method would not be superior to a $100 FCD as this one is literally free.

I learned this trick from a Mazda Specialist who is a good friend of mine and he told me that this was an old trick used by cheap skates like myself ...haha

lets see what kind of contraversy this subject draws as i would like to know others opinion on this Free FCD

by the way I have an 89 T2
-Trust Dual CatBack
-HKS Megaflow Intake
-Magnecore 10mm wires
-Greddy Type S BOV
-Black Magic E fan
-Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch
-Hitachi Stock Turbo clipped 8 degrees
-No A/C and P/S

dude you are getting NO timming retard. you will blow your egine this way. it's way better running an FCD becuase at least it thinks your're running 8psi, now it thinks you are running 0!! you won't lose much fuel because the AFM still works and is measuring air but your timming will be way off, the cause of detonation and blown engines.

I built the one mentioned on www.teamfc3s.org if you're handy with that kind of stuff, the parts only cost a few bucks. Works just fine so far (1 1/2 years).

No TIMING retard, No timing RETARD--

I'll make my post more clear,

you are getting NO "timming retard", retard

plug your sensor back in.

Ahem... there will be NO FLAMES!

Ok I'm kidding. What he means is your timing isn't being "backed off" under boost as it should be. That is called "timing retard" (he wasn't calling you a retard.

I would use the Stoakes FCD (do it yourself one! VERY cheap and effective!)

ALSO, to prevent problems... at least do the fuel pump rewire... a bigger pump would be better.

I have a write up on my page in the how too section. but be warned it's not easy. It took me a good 6-8 hours or so by myself (a 2nd person would have helped alot...) . and I understand wiring diagrams and electrics. if you can't wire a stereo or similar don't atempt it.

the homemade fcd metioned in the fc3s.org website is pretty freakin hard to solder up. i'v tried to do it a number of time's and just wasted a bunch of resistor and diode's and stuff. have my cousin make one(he's an electrical engineer) and work pretty well for a while. as for unplugging your vacum line to your map sensor, i'm pretty surprised that you did't blow your motor YET!!
(knock on wood) i suggest buying the racing beat fcd but as you said you don't wanna do that. here's a cheap soulution:
go to a pet store and find the fish section. buy some one way check valves used for air pumps. theses check valves are so water will not enter the pump when the pump is turned off. buy some tee fittings and vacum hose from local auto parts store. hook up check valves in a way so air is being bled out away from map sensor.you'l know if you hooked it up backwards because the fuel will still cut. each check valve can bleed off about 1.5-2lbs of boost. don't go crazy w/ the valves. you want just enuff so that the map sensor still reads boost and will "retard the timing". the check valves cost about $3 for a pack of 5. this is very effective and safe for probbably 10lbs of boost max. it could go higher but won't be as safe. good luck......
also check the sec. gen free mod thread

oh yea!! also had a little fire under the hood and at the boost gauge on dash due to not soldering the homemade fcd correctly. i'm pretty retarded when it comes to that schematic.
