How do you test the AFM

I have an 87 t2 and I get a ecu code saying that the AFM is bad. Where can I find out or can some one tell me how to test it manually if its bad?

The car idles like crap and runs bad, the ecu threw a pressure sensor code, I replaced it, and it ran a tad bit better. I have done a compression and vacume leake test and all is well. So naw I am assuming that the AFM is bad and or the TPS is bad, so plz if any one knows how to test it plz tell

afm test

wellto test the AFM you need to get the service manual or look up the readings on it... idealy u test the pins on it and check the resistance from the pins..... to tell if its good or bad...

are you still using the oem tid? if you are, you may have some small cracks that is allowing unmetered air in...hence the afm error...

There’s a test procedure for the AFM on page 4B-60 of the FSM. Basically it’s like flak3r said, checking the resistance between the pins.
