How do you shoot flames out of your exhaust?

I saw a MR2 turbo last night and it was shooting flames at my face, the flames were uneven and seemed like a set of spark plugs were just screwed into the exhuast, but I toasted the dork anyway.

What do you have to do get flames?

Go along, any gear, preferally lower and continually tap the gas....than give it a lot of gas and BOOOM!!! flames. Flames are easy on the rotary. Just get a bonez race pipe, and the new corksport cat back....like me!!! Yeah it finally came. Anyway, than you should some serious flames.

All of the above, and make sure you don't have an exhaust leak

i heard on a DSM forum that if u put a spark pluck about 4 feet back from u'r exaust back end, attach a wire to a switch, then to the positive terminal of battery. sumthing about attaching a coil.

Then flip the switch, hit the gas, and tons of flames come out the back end

this is what i heard, do u guys know if this is true???

OMG *slaps self in face*...
you have to have altezza's or clear outs on yer seven... Wing has to be at least 2 feet tall.. and if your wheels aren't 25 LBS EACH and ALL chrome... Then you won't be able to shoot flames..

Hey picazo505, how about this?

The picture in your signature is a violation of copyright law, being as it is derived from my work and without my permission. Not to mention that it's a bastardization of what I consider to be a pretty good sig pic.

Please remove it NOW.

Thank you.

Brandon

It's true, that's just sad. I'm a graphic designer and I would just HATE to see that someone stole my work and to top it off did a **** poor job of modifying it.

Picazo505, get rid of it.

...and the irony of the situation is that if he had asked, I would have offered to create one for him.

Oh well, at least he got rid of it pretty quickly.

to shoot huge flames, the way i do it, drive for at least 30 min so the car is at full temp, keep it revved high (highway 4500-6000k) than put it into 3rd, rev up to redline, than DONT upshift, let the cars idle come down by itself and you'll hopefully see lots of red flashes and flame in ur mirrors.

to pop loud, keep it from 4-5k rpm and keep tapping the throttle...ive scared quite a few people that way.

With my header, presilencer, and N1 single, I would revv to about 7500RPM, let off till it hit 6k RPM, then punch it. You get a nice "BLAP" noise, and see an orange glow in the side view mirror!!

I know this is the Rx-7 forum and all but I had a '91 Nissan Kingcab truck, I had header back exhaust with a gutted cat and a cherry bomb, I could put it it 2nd gear and get it to 6500 rpm (rev limiter) and let off it and step on the gas again and see orange flames in my rearview mirror. Not bad for a truck I charred some ladys z71 front bumper because she was riding my *** just by revving it and letting off it and tapping the gas again at about 5k. The nice loud POP is really nice

Well, we have a '63 Impala that we spent quite some time on with flames (this is DSM mind you) we put two sparkplugs about 8" from the end of the tailpipe and hooked up two model A coils to each, then wired it to a toggle switch and at first had it kill the entire engine so it would just pump raw fuel to the back of the car as we were rolling, but that yeiled violent restarts/doesn't always work, so instead we rigged up a manual choke (got to love old carbs) and would pull it open and pump the gas like crazy and it would shoot them about 7 feet or so, and about 4 feet at idle without stopping. Anyway, that's how we did it on the DSM. I'm sure if you really spent time on the rotary you could do a similar setup to kill your plugs but leave your injectors firing (however that's asking for trouble with flooding) or you could run extremely rich with plugs in the rear (as you were told) which would ignite any gas that the engine didn't catch already, or you can do what is said about and pump the gas a little as your going then floor it (worked for me) Anyway, good luck, I realize I'm rambling and need sleep
