Isn't there like a snap ring for the window crank?

take a towel or rag and slide the edge of it in between the handle and door panel. wiggle it around and pull it up and it should pop off. theres a little semicircle shaped metal clip that you have to push up to get it to pop off.

The Help parts section at the local auto parts store will have the removal tool. They often disappear when they pop off. When you reinstall the window crank, install the clip on the crank, position the crank at the clock position you want in, then give it a pop with the heel of your plam.

The rag trick works like a charm. You don't need a tool. Try it.

Haynes manual Chapter 11 Section 11 (page 254 in my copy). They use a rag method; there's even a photo.

As always, between them the FSM and the Haynes have instructions for removing and placing pretty much every component on the car. Always read them first.
