I'm at stock height... and I use a craftsman floor jack.

stock jack somewhere on rib on sides, and jackstand.

Best way though would be a Citreon suspension and jackstands. Wheels down car raises). Jackstands in. Wheels up. Now if only someone would try to install this on an RX-7.

If your jack is to low, use lumber. 2x6 like the people above said, although a 2x4 worked well enough for me. Just use whatever you got, its common sence to use lumber...I hope you know this.

front subframe and differential?

If you have trouble drive your car on ramps first, then put down a thick piece of plywood under the jack, then jack the car up.

You can do it!

On my LS6 GTU I have RB lowering springs and am not able to get a jack under the car. I usually lift the front passenger side with the spare aluminum jack just a couple inches, then I slide my floor jack under the front and lower the aluminum jack. When I lower the car with the floor jack, I can pull it out before the shocks settle out.

you guys must have some thick as hell floor jacks... i have a mr.goodwrench $15 walmart special and 4" of clearance and it slips right under it. my dad has a jack twice the size as mine and it slips under just fine as well. the OEM jack slips under with maybe 1 inch to spare.

I use the cross member under the motor because using the frame rails or pinch welds screws them up and can bend the frame
