you drive it to a place like menards or somewhere similar and go out to the lumber yard. find the guy on the propane fork lift and say, hey, i'll trade ya. then you ride away on the fork lift.

its not a simple swap.

there's a guy near me that is doing this sort of project. If successful, I will get him to post his experience... i'm skeptic, but if it works, at least its interesting

i know it is a lot easier to convert a carburated vehicle to propane but i was actuallu looking at a fork lift engine at work today an was thing on a fuel injected vehicle it might have some thing to do with hooking up to the throttle body and have it run through there. but i could be wrong.

give summit a call. they have a conversion kit. All you need to do is add a tank of propane from your local gas station. And at 20 bucks a pop you will not be seeing cheaper gas prices in your life again. Propane coversions are done to alot of trucks down on the border. Good luck and post your pics

my neighbour has a propane-powered minivan... I didn't know they could do turbo cars!
he only has a smaller tank so it will only go 200km... on $7!
my car 200km = $30 with the price of gas right now.

****... I think I'll convert to propane!

yes you can convert your t2 to propane. Or run propane injection for a added fuel booster. But yes with the price hikes of gas these days propane is still the same price. Best tank setup to have is the standard tank from a bbq grill. You just swap it out each time you need a fill at most gas stations or grocery stores for 20 bucks. You should be able to get 3x times the miles out of a 20 buck propane tank compared to gas. Lat I checked the kit was 400 bucks.

I've met him, and we talked at length. Bone stock junkyard 12A block, junkyard turbo and throttle body. The propane system was salvaged off of a junkyard cab/police car. Overall it worked very well, and of course propane allows you to run much higher boost levels then pump gas. He no longer has the car as he is now running a 280Z with a Grand National 6...

As mentioned, there are many kits around. You can also use junkyard parts, but it will be a lot more annoying to get running in a daily driven situation, and of course won't pass DOT regulations.

Looks like the best way to go is to install a Racing beat Holly carb adapter system and then go with one of the holley footpring kits that are available out there...
