how do you clean injectors through the fuel rail?

Question how do you clean injectors through the fuel rail?

I need my inectors cleaned badly, and i cant send them out to get them cleaned because its my only car. isnt there a way you can clean them by running something through the fuel rail? and if so how do you. or does anyone know of a shop in the minneapolis area with a injector cleaning machine with a good turn over rate?

best bet yould be to get up one morning, pop them out and take them to a shop to have them by the end of the day ...that is definitely do-able

You can take the car to Huttner Enterprises in Dayton, MN 763-427-9821, ask for Tim Huttner the owner. He can clean either the injectors or the entire fuel system. Should take about an hour or so depening upon how clogged up they or the system is.

The half-assed way that works ok is to run ATF in your fuel tank (1 qt per full tank) and the detergents in it will clean a little as well as your combustion chamber. Doubt that will work if they are in that bad of shape, however.

if your injectors are that bad this is the only answer.

alright thanks i will just get them put on the machine. Turbo 3 thanks alot for the number i will call him tomorrow, what else do they clean besides the injectors when the clean the whole system?

you can preaty much take them to any automotive shop and have them run cleaner through the fuel rail.

They have a machine that pushes a detergent through the entire fuel system or you can pull each individual injector. The machine will tell you what the flow is through each injector so it will identify which, if any, need to be pulled and replaced or cleaned individually. They also do anything else you can think of...I mean anything from fabrication to OEM replacement parts.

i got mine cleaned for $90 canadian and never looked back, best $90 i've EVER spent....

they put a canister onto the fuel rail, attempt to start the car many times, then hold it at redline for just over a minute, i didnt know this was normal so i almost gave them major ****....

car ran like a top afterwards.... but was a little stinky for a day or 2....

edit: for clarification, i work in the auto industry and this does little to clean the system, it is more of a maintenance procedure than a repair procedure and does little to nothing.

I used http://www.cruzinperformance.com/ , awesome job, great price, and online-report. The only trick is you'd have to send your injectors in.. maybe pick up a spare set off of the "for sale" section, and have them sent out? (Then when they get back, just put your old injectors out for sale). These guys put new o-rings and pintle caps on all the injectors they service..

The whole deal cost about 55, including return shipping. I don't see how cleaning out the whole fuel system could be as effective as individually cleaning the injectors?

how long did it take from when you took them out to when you put them back in?

I talked to Tim Huttner today, i am taking my car in tomorrow morning to get it looked at im pretty sure its the injectors that are the problem i just want a second opinion before a drop a bill on the cleaning. and i will get them cleaned if thats the problem.
