how do you check the AFM?
i got the write up on how to retreve the engine codes and im getting a 8,10,and20. those are all afm codes whitch are making my car go into cripple mode(bacicly it wont rev). i want to know if there is a way to check the afm to tell if it is working corectly or if i can clean it ?
didnt i tell you lastnight?:-P get a new one............sounds like some one needs a factory manual. but in my opinion its not worth the trouble get another.. i have an s5 n/a one at home if i can get to it you can have it....my car is down i cant get around. just pay shippin.
You need to read the FSM. I keep saying this, but no-one listens...
For error codes 8 (airflow sensor) and 10 (air temp sensor) read page F1-23 in the NA Fuel & Emissions chapter. Check the AFM is plugged in properly first, since it's unlikely both sensors would fail together.
Error code 20 is for the OMP position sensor, not the AFM, and this is the one that'll be putting the ECU in limp mode. Read page D-16 in the Lubrication System chapter.
