How do these ports look?
I'm considering buying this motor from a member. He said it was rebuilt 300 miles ago and it has an aggressive/large street port on it. I dont really have much experiance on porting so I dont know what they should look like, so I'm asking for your help. Also, if you could also look at other parts of the engine for anythign wrong that would be awesome. I know the pics arent the best, but I'm in the process of getting more hopefully. Please only educated inputs, thanks

Hmm... From the first pic (the only one that *really* shows the port), it looks kinda ghetto... Not very smooth looking and it almost looks like it's cutting into the "oil control ring" area (the inner-circle/line). I dunno though, better/high-res. pics would be awesome.
BTW, I have a pic of one of my streetports in my avatar. It's a little dark (and small) but you can at least see that "cleanliness" and shape is a major goal when porting.
Better pics needed!
Everything else needs to be inspected individually. The E-shaft is likely good, the housings have some wear, but it's difficult to tell without better pics. The rotors look fine, but you really need to see what type of "wiggle" there is in the apex-seal slots etc.
Is this guy local to you? Also, how much is he asking?

Due to discoloration and the glare in the first pic, it's hard to give you a good answer.
It looks like the port is all messy, but it could be just the photo...
Now, I dunno who built that motor, but whoever spray-painted the rotor housings did a bad job.
Overspray on the mating surfaces is not good.
Spray painting around the exhaust port is just not smart.

Pic 1 is the only pic that even comes close to showing the port..........
and I'm with eric, the inside of that port looks too close to the oil control ring for comfort........you may have just built yourself a large oil pump
