My rotors looked worse when I rebuilt mine about 7000 miles ago. However, I'm no expert.

I was told by the rotary mechanic that ported my engine, along w/ everyone else I asked...

Use the housings, but go with a 2-peice seal on the rebuild. The housings should last longer that way, moreso than with that groove just working it's way deeper.

Your housings should be changed. when you are looking for rotor housings your looking for housings that look dull in color. Not chromy shine. They have to look like silver spray paint. Not shiny chrome.

I thought that silverish look was from the lack of proper lubrication due to the OMP system? I have studied my spare housings and that is what I believe. Can anyone back up that statement above?

those should work fine but you will have a few compression issues during break-in.

yea, the really shiny stuff seems to be from where the OMP holes are coming into the houseings. the lubrication is what is makeing them shiny, from what i can tell.
