You don't need to use "additives." Just remove the CAS plug and EGI fuses. Crank the car with the leading plugs removed to clear out the excess fuel.

put the pedal to the floor for the s5's, or remove the egi fuse and crank away. If severally flooded you may have to repeat, and add a spoonfull of atf in the spark plugs holes to build compression (also remove spark plugs and clean them or replace them). Its not a rocket science to unflood a motor. (im a toyota technician)

I think he's referring to ATF when he says 'additives.'

First the dealer connects a Mazda compression gauge, then he sells you a new engine.

Do you know about using a fuel cut-off switch?

i believe another solution that would work here is unplugging the power directly from the battery also.

or would the damm fuel pump still pump fuel if i don't remove the EGI fuse..?

cuz my car's been down for more than 2 weeks due to constant flooding and i'm about so close in cancelling the insurance

need help here also. i will appreciate it also if someone can shoot me a PM or post here

as of today however, i've removed the trailing and leading spark plugs and my assumptions were correct; all 4 plugs were very wet w/ fuel. i've handcranked it straight for 12 mins. and will continue handcranking it this whole week and let the fuel dry out. i'm also thinking about pouring down 5W-30 oil so i can build some decent compression since the motor hasn't been started for 2 weeks now.

this has never become a problem to me before until winter started with this cool/cold/weird southern cali weather to go along with.

one more important info i forgot is it's been flooding itself to death since January and i have to constantly handcrank the motor and let plugs dry out.

question is, why does it keep doing it now... out of the blue...?

again, any input would be appreciated. thanks

But if you unplug the battery directly, how would you get your starter to crank?

No need to remove the trailing plugs, the holes are way too small to let out any fuel.

Also, over time, I read something about that if the plugs are getting constantly wet with fuel or whatever else, it will decrease spark slightly. So maybe try new plugs and a fresh battery. Don't let the battery sit too long and discharge itself. I had this problem when I let my old TII sit and it would flood easy.

dan, i just recently replced spark plugs as well as wires 1 month ago.

i take out the battery since i only handcrank it. it's slow, but worked couple times. it's funny cuz once i started handcranking the motor, i just began to smell very HEAVY fuel fumes and checked the trailing and leading holes and they are literally oozing w/ fuel.

i will try just d/c the EGI fuse in couple days.

thanks for input, any more addition would be appreciated!

That's the way it should be, but then why would you want to put money in someone else's pocket? most I know either quit and open their own shop, or just go straight to the opening their own shop.

That's the case here. I moved to Greenville, and haven't reopened the Rx7Shop (in the process of leasing a building), but when I do..........

which came first the technician or the shop??

hand Cranking can be done better if you get an 1/4 socket extension cut the female side off so it will fit in your drill. Put a step up on and then a 19mm. With the plugs ou the drill will turn your motor pretty fast.
