On the dash a few inches away from the idiot light bezel the dash stops and there is a metal piece that goes from the left side to the right side of the dash and it touches the windshield. This piece needs to be taken off for you to access the plug for the logicon. There is a procedure that explains this in the factory manual. I hope that made sense kind of hard to tell you what it is with out a picture (let me know if it didn’t and I can draw something up). Please be very careful and find the decryption in your manual. This part is hard to take off and things can crack and break (being a 14+ year old car depending on your year).

I thought you were removing it for weight reduction and wanted it out, since you didn't mention putting it back in.

just scrap it out and the plug is there, tighter than a 12 year virgin girl, but if you play with it long enough, it will "pop" out.

That is called the Logicon. The wire snakes back through the dash into a connector. It is really a huge PITA to get to. I find the easiest way is to remove the steering wheel, gauge cluster and surround, and and stick your hand back though there and unplug it. It will be back to the right. You may have to also remove the one heater ducting that runs horizontally behind there, unless you have really small arms and hands. I have heard that it is possible to reach it from underneath, behind the gauge cluster and everything, but I never could. I guess Im not that small though, but unless you have pencil arms I dont see that being done.
