How do I manually select heat inside the car?

Filling my coolant after a flush, my logicon seems to only work on cool now. How can I manually select heat to blow inside the car, so I can fill the coolant properly?

Is there a rod I can push or pull?

you can just stick you hand up there and move the lever i've done it hundreds of times even while driving. but that is most likely not the problem just bleed the system better and the heat should kick on.

^^ +2 bleed the system better. If it worked before, it just needs a really good bleed.

It didn't work before. I forgot it didn't work until I was doing a coolant flush. I need to open the water valve, which I think is located on the drivers side.

I'll try again today. Maybe I wasn't pulling on the lever hard enough?

You can see the water valve from the driver's side.

As everyone else said its on one of the heater cores metal pipes and does take some force to get it to move, i used to have to do this when my logicon went.

i got it, i couldn't get it to move with the motor, so i unclipped the rod from the motor's arm, and pulled down on the rod.....wonder if my motor is stuck?
