n/a's spit flames really easy u just need to get rid of cats and pre silencers. turbo's r harder to shoot flames because well i dunno, its just the word on the street.

u flame in 3rd gear in anything above like 4 grand and first and 2nd i have to hit around 6 grand to shoot some nice dual one and a half foot flames.

I had dp and mp with stock catback and never got any flames. Put on a Greddy Power Extreme and I got them once in a while. Now that I've put on an Apexi blow-off valve, it's just ridiculous. I'll drive around with my friends following me on the highway and they say I'm getting HUGE flames shooting out of both mufflers when I get on it. My bumper is getting charred, so that sucks. I'm also wondering how much trouble you can get in if a cop sees it? My biggest concern really. Does anyone know?

how does the blow off valve do anything to the flamage situation? I was debating a blow off valve, but I don't think I really need it, i don't want to spend $200 just for a sound. Also, I've got the Turbo back RB exhaust and it sounds like I should be shooting cause there's alot of popping and I'm running real rich cause there's always black on the exhaust and you can smell the gas. But I'm not shooting flames yet.

Hot rod guys have been igniting unburnt gas out the tail pipe for years with a spark plug. Tap a hole in your tailpipe to mount the business end of a spark plug in the flow of exhaust. Send 12 volts to it from the battery through a switch. Just flip the switch and it will burn. 4 and 5 foot long. I think they even sell kits in the back of hot rod mags.

I am not responsible for
1) blown up mufflers
2) blown up engines
3) Or the Cop pulling you over.

on a turbo charged vehice with a maf sensor such as turbo2's when u hav an open vented blow off valve it creates a rich condition when shifting hence BOOM

Alot of shooting flames has to do with dashpot adjustment. You want to wind it out a bit so your throttle slams shut, that way there is no air and lots of fuel.

Free flow exhaust is a must also

If I am going down hill, and keep the rpms between 3-4k, I can bust shots as long as the hill takes. I have counted over 30 in a row.

the reason a BOV causes more flames is because when you shift, it lets the air out, but the computer still sends the same amount of fuel to the engine as though the air was still there. This causes unburnt gas to travel down the exhaust pipes at super hot temperatures. When the fuel reaches the atmoshpere, it is hot enough to combust and there is suddenly lots of oxygen, so BOOM, you get flames.
The reason you must hack the cats is because the air pump is pumping air into the main cat, so as to completely burn the fuel to meet emissions. This means the super hot gas reaches the main cat and ignites, where you cannot see it The cat just mimicks what would happen when the fuel reaches the atmoshpere, but without you being able to see the fireworks show.

take it easy,
Kris

then you could just take the air pump off and you should spit flames right?? what if I take off the pre cats and put a high flow cat on an aftermarket cat-back exhaust??
