Unhappy How do I know which RX-7 I have?????

Heres the deal. There are no markings on the car besides the RX-7 and the Mazda emblems. So do I have a generic '7 or something? How can I find out which I have?

OH CRAP!!!
another question!!
does the TII water pump housing work on the n/a? my housing is broke and I can get my hands on one for the TII for about $30. It looks like it will work, but will it?

thanks for your help!!
peace out,
peacekeeper

Uh, what year is your car? Does it have a hood scoop? 4 or 5 lug rims? Suspension switch on the center console? C'mon, man, you need to give us more info than that!

TII Water housing and water pump will work. There's no difference.

A Coupe, probally. I have a 91 Coupe. All power options, but no AAS, LSD, sunroof, rearwiper, or ABS. If it has no LSD, that is what it is. DO a burnout, then go back and look at the marks. If there is 1 tire mark, open differential. If there are two, Limited Slip Differential. Hope this helps!! Worse come to worse, contact www.mazdausa.com. I asked then via email to run the VIN, and they told me it was a Coupe model.

Whats the build date???

1990 model year builds were from 12/89 thru 8/90
1991 build dates were from 8/90 through 7/91

if it is really a 90 and built between 12/89 and 8/90 then it is a GTU.

if it was built after 8/90 (and as you mention it is not a convertible) then it is a Coupe.

Rico,

GTU for an 88, GTUs for 89-90.

GTU in 89-91 took over as the base model.

It's probably a GTU with manual windows/locks. 5 lug doesn't matter in 89-91, all had 5 lugs. The brakes OTOH, were single or 4 piston, depending on the option, and the rotors were thicker if 4 piston.

Oh, and the waterpump housing is the same T2 to NA, but only if they're the same year. 89-91s had an extra bolt hole on the waterpump.

Thanks you guys.
I guess its a GTU if the date is on the inside of the door.
does the GTU have any advantages over any other '7s?
what all is good about them?

Is that water pump used?&nbsp I'd be vary wary on used water pumps.&nbsp once the water pump seal contacts coolant and then exposed to air, it has a nasty reputation of shrinking, making the water pump useless...
