Are you overboosting? Do you have a cat still installed? You need to determine if you are overboosting. And if you are not, what boost level do you want to see? This determines the mods you will need to make.

Take it to the dyno and get numbers and AFR's. ****This is the best way to find out.*** Quarter mile will tell you nothing if its your first time. Spend 35-70 bucks and find out whats up. Or listen to these guys here and go to a drag strip and find out you need the 680cc seconds because you pop your motor.
yeah I agree with bukwild on this one. Just take it to a dyno and find out what hp it has and then compare it to what the stock hp should be. Of course take into consideration that car companies rate cars in fwhp rather than rwhp and I believe all dynos rate cars in rwhp.
yeah you should definatly port the wastegate. Search for NZcovertable's how to . very good port job. i would reccomend getting it to 30 mms if you can. If your running a stock turbo you should be able to last on your stuff you have now if your not going crazy with the boost. Like someone said get a aftermarket boost gauge so you know exactly what your running. with the stock injectors i wouldnt run more than 10 psi (also there is where you start to push the limit of the stock turbo).
If your going to be upgrading more and more swap out the injectors, rewire your fuel pump, get a standalone .
Also do you have the stock TID with a hks filter on it ,, or a custom tid?. If you keep the stock tid you can control your boost a little better. I put a 3 in Tid on a stock turbo it went crazy and very hard to control.
