How do I hook up the linkage and vacuum hose for cruise control?
I finally got the final piece of cruise control, the actuator, and when I went to install it, I realized I have no friggin clue how to hook up the linkage and vacuum hose. Where do they connect to? If anyone can tell me I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Linkage goes to the backside of the Throttle Body. It's a pain to get together. The cable threads through a retaining bracket with a metal clip to hold the cable in. Kinda hard to explain how to thread the linkage, but it's all there, even if it didn't come with curise to begin with.
The hose connects to the backside of the manifold (towards the firewall); pick one that's capped-off and goes right into the manifold. All it needs is a vacuum source.

no it does not attach to the large connector that ges directly into the manifold.
it connects to the small vaccum line that is TEEd into the the throttle body.
it has a green/white vaccum valve attached to it as well.
remove the cap off of the "T" and then attach the hose there.
the other one is WAAAAAY TO BIG and is meant for another type of connection.

its easy to find...
Look behing the throttle body, its one of the two hoses hanging off the brass object screwed in near the cooling lines.
There are 2 ca lines attached to the bottom of it, one has the green valve and tee that i mentioned.
there is a cap on this tee, remove it and attach the control there.

I am correct about his question.
The vaccum hose goes to the tee just as I described.
The cruise cable goes into the throttle linkage very close to this tee.
this is so that the vaccum line can be clamped to the cable sheath until it reaches the TB and then it goes behing it to the tee i speak of.

Are we talking about two different things? Sounds like you're talking about the water-thermo valve? I'm talking about the L shaped vacuum nipple the connects to the cruise hose.

the ater thermo valve on the TB is connected to a pair of vaccum lines.
these line go on one way on the manual trans cars and in revers on the automatic trans cars.
the manual tranny cars have this pair oriented so that the line with the one way vac valve (green/white thing) is closer to the TB.
this is the one that goes to a tee and then continues on to the manifold. the tee is capped if there is no cruise.

But there is no T. The cruise plugs into a L shaped nipple on the UPPER INTAKE.
The vaccuum line for the secondaries goes from the lower intake (straight nipple) to the thermo valve, to the check valve, to the secondary throttle actuator.
The vacuum line for the cruise goes from the L shapped nipple to the cruise....

I actually got the linkage and vacuum hose attached now, only problem is that now when I turn on cruise control by hitting the Main switch, my car will only accelerate until I turn it off. It doesn't maintain a speed. It properly deactivates when I hit the brake or clutch, or when I push the switch to Coast, but when I let up on any of those it goes back to accelerating, past what speed I want. Any pointers?

test the switch you installedin the dash.
check to see if the "set" button is stuck.
Otherwise, the computer or actuator is bad.
the FSM has test procedures for the actuator and switch.
test those.
if they check out, then the computer could need resoldering (or its broke and needs replacement.)

The only problem is that the FSM's test procedure requires that you have cruise control "checker" to test the electrical parts. The set button on the switch is not stuck so far as I can tell. I can push it in and it comes right back out.

Did you ever get this thing solved?
I just installed my cruise (thanks Snrub & Aaron!) and it is idleing at about 1150 (before around 750) even with the nut loosened all the way and the car just keeps accellerating when I set the speed. These are all junkyard pieces so I have no idea if something is broken, though the switch lights up.

The curise control system had a self diagnostic that you can activate.
Research the FSM and look in the cruise control section to see the procedure.
It has somthing to do with holding the lever down for 3 seconds while turning on the unit.
then the MAIN light flashes out the error codes.
