Even in a moderate accident the cage is more dangerous to you than your properly designed and built RX7. You have compromised all the crush zones engineered into the car's frame and body.

Remember cars were designed to enhance the gene pool since wars, plagues. drought and famine aren't doing the job anymore.
Yes i am aware of all this, the car is going to have the proper harneses, it already has full race buckets in it, and a helmet is not always neccasary if you have the roll cage properly placed and properly padded, plus im not talking about an rx7 here i am talking about an 81 toyota starlet that was made out of recycled tin cans man, my car crushes where your rx7 might just bend a little a roll cage is absolutely neccasary whether it makes some areas slightly less safe or not because without it there would be absolutely no way of surviving a crash where with it you probably have a 70% chance.

My car has no crush zones engineered into it lol, 0 not a single one it crushes wherever it feels like from its current size into the size of a brick if i get hit.

Have we determined if the friends aren't scared of the driver, not the car? I don't see what's so wrong with it? It wouldn't have been sold if it would explode and kill everybody in a 5 block radius...

Honestly, the car isnt that safe at all. Especially if its not an S5 with airbags. If you compared its crash test results to standards today, it would not be a road legal car.

wussies! try riding a bike, at least here in Oregon, they're always getting run over.
Your friends aren't scared of bikes are they?
A freaking chunk of blue ice can come falling from the sky and relocate your brain, but your not scared to walk outside w/o a helmet right? I hope not, cars aren't safe, planes aren't safe, life is not safe!

RX-7's probably not that safe, small light, made in the 80's. But I would trust it more that a Kia sephia though...

Where's my sky poop helmet I'm leaving...

If they don't want to ride with you ..FINE!..that is a GOOD thing..Why?..you don't have to Listen to them Screaming when you Boost it,Or Drift around a corner,or Drive the car at 6500 RPM!..All of which is normal in an FC!..haha..the best part is that youi can Crank your Sound System, and not have someone ****** with it,and you can Sing along with the Tunes, and not Be told that you sound like a "Menstrating cat sliding down a Ramp of RazorBlades!"..My .02!..Cheers,STYX.

You're the same guy that wanted your car to make "cool turbo noises" correct?

Drive the damn car and decide for yourself how safe it is. I'm lucky enough to have friends that understand what the car's all about and don't mind the lack of "safety features". One of the reasons I bought the thing in he first place was because it doesn't even have power steering.

There are only two main categories of things that makes the FC dangerous. Number one, things related to driver stupidity. Number two, more importantly, 20 year old parts that have never been replaced that should have been 10 years ago. Keep your car in good shape and it's not going to be dangerous unless your driving makes it dangerous.

Looks and performance go together well.

It's not the fact that I'm trying to get my friends to ride in the car, but my dad is scared because he backed his truck into the last one and it crumpled easily.

Like most people are saying who really cares? Plus its better to not be a taxi n e ways and if they are "afraid" of driving in an Rx7 they are not worthy anyways

Then your Dad does not understand what makes a car safe. It sure as hell isn't about what happens in a low-speed fender-bender.

i crashed my 86 base fc into a 1996 ford taurus.....the outcome of that fight: my car 1, taurus 0! my car had about $1500 in damages and the ford was totaled!! i bent the taurus at piller between the front and rear doors, pushed the trunk even with the rear window and the drivers side rear tire was pushed forward almost even with the rear door! funny thing is the next day when i got out of the hospital i went to the tow truck yard and started my car right up and drove her right to my house, no steering problems at all but i still did not have $1500 to fix it. it took a field trip for a year to iraq for me to get my current fc!

This is so far off topic and pointless that we were done a long time ago. Closing thread.
