Hey guys, i know that you will hear a "ping" if your engine is detonating, but im hearing something similar and im not sure if its detonation or if its just "creaking" im hearing from a broken engine mount. When i nail the gas pedal (usually in 4th or 5th gear) i hear a creaking/ping sound multiple times coming from my engine. so, i was wondering exactly what does a detonation ping sound like?

 

why dont you put a motor mount in it and see if it goes away? Personaly I have heard detonation on a TII before and thought it sounded like pop corn lol

 

I would put in new motor mounts, but im way too broke at the moment... damn currency

 

Put a screen trap over the exhaust tip and see if it catches any bits of the apex seal
