Question How to clean a short block

I have a shortblock that I've stripped down to just the housings. Is there anyway I can completely clean it without taking it apart? I know it runs its just dirty.

I used some engine restore stuff made by the same company who makes PB Blaster, it's supposed to be used for lawn mowers and stuff after winter. I sprayed some in the intake ports and turned the engine over with a ratchet a couple times. Black liquid started coming out of the exhaust ports, and the rotors looked much cleaner through the exhaust ports afterward. I followed that up with a little bit of 10W30 in each housing.

EDIT: This.

Anyone know if I can hot tank the whole thing as is or would I have to completely dissassemble it? Also, If i were to go the power washing option what should i use to cover all the openings. I only have an EGR block-off plate. What should I do about the spark plug, intake, exhaust holes?
