How to clean crap out of rad fins?

I tried using some No Scrub shower stuff, for the hell of it, and it didn't do a damn thing. I'd rather not crawl under the car and poke the crap out one space at a time.

I'm wondering about hitting it with brake cleaner, but I'm worried that it may be damaging.

Any success stories out there to be shared? Oh, and it's an aluminum rad. OEM, AFAIK.

Go to a heating and air conditioning supply house and buy some condenser cleaning solution. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR PAINT!!!!

REad and heed all instructins, Wear rubber gloces, eye protection and at least a simple respirator. This is an acid solution you are atomizing when you spray it.

Have a pressure washer but no mid feed chemical thingy. Blasted the rad when I rinsed the Scrub Free out (I let that goo sit and soak for 20+ mins without effect.)

Oh, and back to original question (asking mostly out of curiousity now.)

Would Brake Cleaner mess up the rad?

>>>do not use castrol super clean<<<

this is just a healthy advise to all my fc freinds... castrol super clean will turn anything chrome, ALUMINUM, or anything shiny. including the radiator.. white.. it will leave this sort or resedue that is hard to take off.. or sometimes permanently... ive done this on my sway bar.. and the damn thing was aluminum and it turned it like it was something sitting in the junk yard for years.. i ended up painting the damn thing...its not something youd like on your precious one.. so please be carefull..

Yeah, I believe there is a warning on that castrol super clean stuff. some of those chems are bad.

My girlfriend sprayed wesleys bleach white on her tires and her alloy rims got some nasty stains. First thing I did was pick up the bottle. Then I pointed to the warning on the bottle about alloy rims.

Sucks too, they are nice rims.
