Loosen alternator bolt that is on adjustable fitting. Push alternator down to put slack in belt. Take old belt off. Put new belt on. Wedge crowbar under alternator, move it back into place so it's tight. Tighten alternator. Take a nap. Have a cookie. Go for a drive.

You'll also have to remove some of the other belts if they're in the way.

my alternator belt has been squeeking when i get on the gas since i did the fd alt swap i retightened the belt can anyone tell me exactly how tight the belt should be

There aren't any tensioners on the FC's.

doh- im thinking powersteering and a/c

they have tension bolts and you need to loosen the nuts before changing the bolts

you're going to need to remove all the other belts
it'll help to take off the little air box/filtercharger box, and the battery out, not to mention the cover for the fan or whatever, and loosen the fan just so you can get in there a little easier

then remove the belts, there are tensioners on the driver's side, i believe it's the power steering and something else, i forgot, you should be able to figure out the rest from there

i did this like a week ago, it took me a while, a lot of bolts broke and ****
