How Can i tell if a motor mount is broken? I did search

I didin't find any good info when I searched .. I installed my motor back in my car yesterday ... but the Turbo side motor mount had a seperation of the rubber from the metal, is that a broken motor mount? Or is that typical from that hotter side of the engine? None of the brackets or then metal parts are cracked or broken. But like I said the rubber is sperated from the circles.

Thx.

is its broken you should be able to lift that side of the engine up, there will basically be slack in it. or you could go driving and give it some gas and you'll be able to tell real easy.

Yep, that's a broken motor mount - it should be solidly mounted to the car.

Changing the motor mount out isn't tricky with the engine in the car, and they're quite inexpensive - like $30 or so.

It won't hurt anything to drive with a broken motor mount - might give you some drivetrain slop, but won't hurt anything.

Does anyone have the link to those aftermarket High performace motor mounts? If I am going to change them i plan to do it right .. so they don't break again .. I don't have everything back on the motor yet either.. so that might make it a little easier.

thx
