How big is your Walbro Fuel Pump?

I was suprised to see that my walbro 255 pump was smaller than my stock one. Is this how it really is, or did I get a smaller pump. It doesnt say 255 on it, just walbro and some model number. Did I get ripped off, or is it just that the walbro is more compact but still flows more?

The Walbro 340 (255lph) is smaller than the factory pump to clarify your doubts. It is the right one and they are good for 500hp+ and have seen tests that show it able to support 650hp when "hot wired" with 14 volts.

I run one and like it. Don't ever run this pump out of gas as they are very tempermental and may fail on you (happened to me after running out of gas 3x).

are you kiddin me? I just ran on fumes and then filled it up a bit before it started feeling like fuel starvation. but i didnt actually run outta gas, just really low. Ive got it rewired so I should never run outta fuel. Well, does anyone know how to test if a FCD works?

chris_stampe,,,,,,how to see if the fcd works??? Couple of ways. One is to tap into the brown/red wire on the boost/pressure sensor with a meter. Then put a device that makes pressure on the vac line on the bottom of the sensor and pressurize it. The voltage should rise on the meter, but stop rising (clamping) at the voltage that the fcd was set at. Should be around 3.65 volts, but the store bought unit I bought clamped at 3.2 volts. That is not darn good. Should be closer to 3.65. The store bought unit can be adjusted. TAke the top off a you see a pot. Adjust to your desire.

What you might do is disconnect the fcd and do the above test without it in place. That way you can see how high the voltage goes without the fcd. Then when you reinstall the fcd and test it, you know what to look for. That will be a voltag that rises to a figure around 3.65, but stops rising, even though the pressure is increasing.

A MITTYVAC is a good tool to use to do the above. About 25 bucks give or take.

Hailers, are you sure its the brown/red wire? I tapped into it and got 12v. I tried all the other wires too and none went up when I gave it about 5psi. Does the car have to be started, I just had it on "on" My ecu is spitting out a boost sensor error code btw.

Ok, my RP FCD must be shorted b/c it reads 12v where the boost sensor is only putin out 2-5 or whatever. How come my car runs fine, shouldnt it be hitting fuel cut all the time? It just does it under boost ~10 maybe
