How big can I go without tire rub?

Alright so I just snagged a set of wheels.

17x8 +27 in the front

17x9 +35 out back

How big of a tire can I get on there without worrying about rubbing the suspension?

I've met the limits of the front fender wells with 225 width (50 series) tires on 16" rims, but 245+ seems possible in the back.

up front I can't fit a 225/40/18R, tried it today, I'm gonna stick some 215/35/18R and see if it fits.

I'd PM RETed and ask him. He knows more about tire fitment than anyone else I know.

Edit: tell him TrueSpin suggested you do that.

On my brother's 89 TII he has 245/45/16's in the front and they rub slightly. He used to have 235/45/16's and they fit just fine. In the back 245/45's fit no problem. Could probably fit 255's with the stock suspension. Possibly bigger. Just call up Les Schwab or another tire place and they could tell you for stock specifications.

There's a thread in the Suspension section with a bunch of FC fitments.

You ought to be able to fit a 225 in the front, and I believe a 275 is possible in the rear, but your rear wheel offset is too high for that. 245s or 255s in the rear with your setup, I bet.

225 up front easily.
Some 235 can fit, but offset has to be dead on.

In rear, 255 will easily fit.

BTW, what kinda wheels are those?

They're the 5Zigen FN01R-Cs, I got a good deal on em so now I need to buy some tires.

Once I actually get some tires put on there and slap em on the car I'll be more than happy to post pix for you guys.

Iv got 17x7.5's with a 35mm offset ( i think) iv got 215's up front, and 235's back, on a 40 series. Next time i get tires im getting 225/45/17 all the way around.. Im thinking i might rub in the front, but i might just have to shave something..

Pic is of a 235/40R17 on a 17x8 +30 offset. Eibach/ Tokiko combo. I have plenty of room, I might be able to get 245/40 up front.
