Hot start issues

well first for modifications, i have a large vmount setup. koyo rad large intercooler and of course a basic efan rated at 1200 cfm. the temp gauge on rad cap says it sits around 180-190 and my stock gauge in cluster says about halfway unless im cruising highway or its a decent cool night

after driving it anytime at this temp, near half of stock gauge, it will not restart... any solutions or anything i can do to help with this? any thoughts and opinions welcome. thanks

You need the right amount of fuel for the car to start and a warm engine needs less fuel than a cold engine. The Water Thermosensor helps to decide how much fuel is used at start up based on engine temperature. The sensor provides a reading at the ECU and helps govern how much fuel to use. W/the key to on, pin 2I of the ECU (Green/White wire) should have a signal of 2 to 3 volts w/a cold engine and .4 volts w/a fully warmed engine. Check this reading and it will tell you whether the sensor/wiring is causing your problem.

The gauge may be incorrect but if it were the needle should climb to about 1/3 up from the bottom range if everything was working accordingly.

so should it be at 190? and this means its a fuel issue then? i have all emissions removed? that mean this will only be solved with an actual tune?

I'm not sure what is defined as being proper or too high related to engine temps but it "appears" to be within five to ten degrees of being normal but I will defer to those that follow this more closely. If the reading at the sensoer pin is off then it is very likely a wiring problem and nothing else.

so your opinion on hot starts? possibly bad injectors or running too much fuel pressure?

There are a number of possible causes. When you check one possible cause and it checks out as not the actual cause you move on to the next possible cause.
