horsepower

hey. i bought a 1991 rx7 last august and im lovin it. one thing that im curious about is the horsepower. the guy i bought it from was talking about it and he said that its pushing 300 thanks to some sort of special rotors. i dont know if i heard him right, cause ive read some specs for the 91 non turbo rotaries that say more like 160. does anyone know of a special stock rotary the might be in my car that has 300 horsepower for some reason?

a n/a 3 rotor or n/a 4 rotor maybe thats the only n/a rotary engine i could think of that could do those kind of numbers but if its a two rotor i doubt you have 300 hp

Well technically it is 160 to the flywheel, so around 146 to the wheels, and that is brand new. Most are around the 130 range. $2000 is a little high for an N/A but you didn't say what condition it is in so..... Read up on the FAQ's at the top of the 2nd gen section it will tell you quite a bit about your ride. Plus don't forget to SEARCH.
