Horn beeps at high rev

I find this odd and it might be a problem but when i am shifting through the gears close to red line my car horn beeps, now is this common? Is it like an alarm telling me to shift?

Are you sure its your horn? Cause there is supposed to be a buzzer that goes off at about redline.

That's the over-rev buzzer and I think the RX-7 is one of the few cars ever made with that feature.

It also indicates WHEN you're supposed to shift as we all know that our engines love to be revved!

Hahaha all of you are so wrong its the Screaming Grandma screaming SSSHHHHIIIIIIIFFFFFFFTTTTTT. For me it goes all the way to 8500 then i shift so i hear it for a long time. Im scared to push it much farther. There is a way to adjust it if you want ie make it beep at the actual redline of 7 or 8 its just up to you. I personally like the grandma better than some damn shift light blinding you at night. - Gabe
