Horizontally mounted IC's
Any one have any info/pics of them on FC's? Have first hand experience? I know it is a very popular recent trend in Japan, especially on S15's. I think it looks amazing, but why is it done, and why isnt not commonly done over here in the states? I think the Panspeed yellow FC has one but not sure.

you have to have a cowl hood to have one.
I'm not sure if they have ducts redirecting airflow towards the IC or not, but the cowl is the biggest reason.
It also lets cooler air into the engine bay
I think some actually seal the hood to the IC w/ foamrubber
They do it on quite a few japanese FDs as well, along with skylines.

the way I see it is you would lose 1/2 the air from going to the rad... since it would go up through the IC and hood instead... probably cause worse cooling problems then a FMIC.

i dont even know if it would fit in the engine bay of an FC. if it did wouldnt it just get in the way of everything else? hell half the reason i want a FMIC is so i dont have to take the IC off to do stuff to the engine
