Hope I bought the right Wheels !! Plus one more thing.
I just got a great deal on some wheels, but like a clod, I didnt do much homework beforehand and just jumped on the deal ....
Just bought a set of VSR 17"x7" wheels with 40 offset .... BUT
I havent had the time to do alot of checking after-the-fact, but aren't stock wheels on 88 convertibles a 42 offset ?!
What will this do to the characteristics of the car and what *can* I do now if theres a problem.... I'd just as soon sell the wheels for correct ones if it's impact is negative...
Also, is ther any possiblity of puting a rollbar in a convertible and keep the top's functionality ?
New to the club, so thanks for being patient until I get into tha groove..

lemme guess.... ebay?
The vert does use unique/different spec dampers and springs I believe so you may be right about the offset. Can't see + or - 2 making a gigantic difference. Rollbar is a possibility but you'd be looking at a few bucks to have it measured and fabricated correctly.

LOL ... you are correct, eBay ... was that a no-no ?!
As for the rollbar, I am assuming there are not prefab rollbars that are available that you know of?

Some of those ebay wheels are hard to resist. Problem is, well a problem for some people is: Weight (often pigs), Sturdiness (if they're cheap and heavy avoid potholes and speed bumps like the plague), Tire Allowances (because of limited widths available on the inexpensive ones).
Rollbars? Not that I am aware of. If I had a vert nearby I could fab up one for you. An established chassis shop should be able to bend you a main hoop and attach two trailing bars. Provide for a bit more protection.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
stock offset on all FC's is 40mm/et...(as covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section- please read that first before posting) those wheels would fit fine.
Heck, I have even fit 48mm/et offset 17x7 wheels on a vert with no problems (other than the wheels are heavy compaired to the vert BBS wheels).
